Prototype VIA Assistants Grants,
2012
As its name implies, ‘Judo’ flexes its three timber members to a strict geometry in a piece that folds out in one deft movement. Top and legs are articulated by sprung hinges sunk into bevelled edges. The flat surfaces are pulled together tight and stiffened in a single out-fold movement that configures the bench as a unit.
Created in 2010 during a research stay, organized by the Pôle expérimental métiers d’art, Nontron
